I
went on the products October 2002, exhausted, stressed physically
and emotionally by overwork. Within 4 days, the famous health
result kicked in and so did the inch loss. When I'd stopped
crying over losing 3/4 stone, 2 inches off my waist and
2 inches off my backside in a month (seriously, us ladies
love our saggy bits right?) I went on to lose another 1/2
stone the following month, which was not bad going considering
I was less than 10 stone to start with.
More
importantly, perhaps, was the staggering health result.
My friends had seen a grey faced wreck, shivering with temperature,
racked by a chest infection I couldn't shift, turn into
a bright-eyed, bushy-tailed, old self in a matter of a fortnight.
The
level of interest from my friends prompted me to return
my distributor application form, which I did at the end
of October. After picking up a few customers from my Circle
of Influence, I put in a success builder order in November,
went Supervisor in December, and between April and July
of this year I retailed myself to World Team.
Being
a nurse for over 25 years, I always reinforce the health
result. My personal aim as a distributor of Herbalife products
is to get the weight result for my customers as safely,
quickly, easily and economically as possible, always trying
to achieve as much health promotion as possible and as great
a lifestyle and wellness result as possible.
Most
of my customer base is from referrals, I always give free
trials, or 3/5/7days of products free, depending on the
need, if my customers get stuck. It does mean that my profit
margin sits around 40%, but I'd rather have 40% profit from
30 happy customers than 50% from 10 ok ones. After 9 months
in the business, I felt ready to sponsor new distributors,
and started the road to GET Team.
I
then retailed myself to world team, selling £1,400
- £1,500 of products per month. It was through my
customer base that I was able to achieve World Team. My
husband has only brought me one customer, who since brought
me three referrals. So I have built the business single-handed,
initially working 4-6 hours a week, and bringing in about
£400 profit. I started the 10k attitude and my route
to GET Team before my WT qualification month was finished.
I also started volunteering at ROMs in order to get my card
stamped and my red trainers jacket. I use the ROM's to motivate
me and put myself in an arena where I am exposed to the
concerns and questions of prospects, to better develop my
skills as a recruiter and sponsor. I guess I'm a little
different in my approach, my sponsor tells me I am fairly
unique in that I read all 3 manuals in the IBP at least
twice, including the rules before I joined the business!
In
terms of lifestyle benefits from being a Herbalife distributor
- well! I'm no longer working 45-46 hours a week while being
paid for 35. I'm no longer being degraded and insulted by
a chauvinistic Regional Finance Manager and put under massive
pressure by my boss. One of the biggest changes is the sense
of joy and excitement amongst the other distributors. I've
made friends with so many wonderful people who are also
having a great time earning money fulfilling peoples dreams
of better health, a new image, fresh confidence etc. Who
wouldn't be happy in an environment when this is all around
you?
I
no longer feel I have to do everything and save the world.
I have choices now. One of them was to go to Egypt on holiday.
I've been to Paris, and will be going to Vienna. I'm seeing
the world in the best company I could wish for, and my kids
have their mum at home again.
