Before I joined Herbalife I was Managing Director of a Sound and Lighting hire company which supplied equipment and production services for live events, rock and roll tours, conferences and television shows. We catered for the requirements of artists as diverse as The Who, Blur, Jools Holland and Debbie Harry and TV shows which included The Crystal Maze, TFI Friday and the Brit Awards. As you can imagine with such a calibre of clients the financial rewards were not really my problem, however the stress that came with the position, having personal and legal responsibility for the health and safety of all my crew, the performers and the public at large, combined with long hours took their toll. I have been blessed with triplets, Natasha, Kenya and Cameron, given to me by my beautiful wife Stephanie. When I was working in the entertainment industry however I would leave the house before the children woke up in the morning and when I arrived home at night they would be sleeping. I only really saw them at weekends and only then when I was not working. The consequence of this was I became very dissatisfied with my lot. I took advantage of my expense account with too many executive lunches; I drunk too much wine and put on an enormous amount of weight. I acquired a very low self-esteem and found myself trapped in a position from which I felt there was no escape. My health suffered, I was permanently tired and I could see no way out.

I discovered Herbalife in February of 2002 and decided to take a proper look at one of the Regional Organisation Meetings. I was very sceptical, but conceded that it could possibly work; Herbalife however would have to prove the products to me as ethically that would be the only way I could become involved. I promptly lost 4 stone in weight over the next 5 months, my energy levels went through the roof, and only someone who has been overweight can appreciate this, I could tie my shoelaces again, without pain and breathlessness. I also stopped fearing for my health. I resigned from the company I was with as Managing Director and started to work Herbalife part time whilst still doing freelance work in the entertainment industry.

Do I earn as much money in Herbalife after 18 months as I did as Managing Director of a major hire company with 20 years experience in the industry? No – not yet, but I will within the next 18 – 24 months.
Was it the right decision? Absolutely I have my health back, my self-esteem and most importantly my family, I will see my children grow up and be able to teach them what I have learnt, I won’t just be a source of money for them, their paycheque if you like. Thank you Herbalife, I am so grateful that this opportunity came to me, it has literally changed my life. And as for my previous health and safety problems? Well I don’t think anyone is going to give me a hard time for not only improving the health but also the security and prosperity of the people I now come in contact with!
